Hey Bailey Creek. Are you a ‘nut’ fanatic? Do you go crazy over cashews, wackoo over walnuts, or pine for peanuts, pistacchios, or pecans? If so, then you should definitely take advantage of today’s groupon for Memphis: $10 for $25 worth of nuts, dried fruits, and more from Nutty Guys.

Do you know how many nuts you can get from Nutty Guys with $25? A sizeable amount, that’s what. Nutty Guys has a very good selection of nuts, dried fruit, nut butter, candies, organic nuts, and much more. If you’re looking for a place to get a healthy snack and a semi-sweet treat, then this is your place. I’ve always been partial to honey roasted peanuts, and Nutty Guys seems to have some of the best.

If eaten sparringly, nuts can be a very healthy snack. Researchers found that people who eat nuts regularly have lower risks of heart disease. Instead of simply adding nuts to your diet, eat them in replacement of foods that are high in saturated fats and limit your intake of these tasty treats to 1 to 2 oz per day . For example, instead of adding chocolate chips when making cookies, sprinkle on some nuts. Or instead of making a deli meat sandwich, try a nut butter toast, and Nutty Guys can definitely help you out with the Nut Butter. I hear Nutella is good as well.

Take advantage of this groupon offer while you can; it’s for one day only! Check back tomorrow for your next deal!

Hey Bailey Creek ladies! It’s the summer time, so I know that a good number of you are probably readjusting your workout plans. Have you ever considered competing in a 5K? What about just training yourself to run for fun? If so, try participating  in Women Walk/Run Memphis.

Women Walk/Run Memphis is a 10 week program for walkers and beginner, intermediate, and advanced runners, with a ‘graduation’ 5K after the training program. Don’t worry, they’re going to take it slow. :) The people of Women Walk/Run Memphis are here to help you ease into the world of 5K and marathons, and to give you a new look on the world of running. Especially for those who think that running is ‘not for them’.

The kickoff open house and expo will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 12 at the Agricenter, (7777 Walnut Grove Road). You don’t have to attend the kickoff event to participate in the program, and you can register through August 9. Registration fee is $20 before July 19 and $25 after.  The 5K ‘graduation run’ is scheduled for Sept. 13 at 8 am at Oak Court Mall.

Imagine the satisfaction you’ll feel once you complete the program! Are you interested in participating in something like this?

Water Glass

A recent study has determined that people who drink plain water as their primary beverage have better diets over people who drank other beverages. Not to say that all water drinkers are healthier eaters, but their diets consist of more fiber, less sugar, and fewer calorie dense foods than other beverage drinkers. There still isn’t a standard amount of water you should drink a day, but it’s a healthy addition to any diet.

Here’s the story with more info from the study

10 Good Books For A Better You

booksSo I am not a fan of MTV reality shows, but there was this one lady, Kelly Cutrone on The City, that was feisty and right up my alley.  I don’t know if I am cut throat, but to others I can be just like her.  I have always wondered how she lived life like that when people always have something to say.

I know that when I am sarcastic, I am always in some type of trouble because someone’s feelings have gotten hurt.  Well, she now has a book out called “If You Have to Cry, Go Outside.”  I am going to buy that book immediately!  It seems to give you a sense of how she has made it to the top of her game.

I’m sure you can find the book on amazon.com, but here are 10 other books that can make you a better you.

Have you ready any of these books?
