Hey Bailey Creek! Do you own a scooter? If so, be prepared to see more around town, because they are starting to reach another height in their popularity, especially around the Memphis area.

In these harsh economic times, investing in a scooter doesn’t seem so bad. They’re so economically efficient. According to an article from Commercial Appeal, a 65 year old scooter rider only pays $3 a week on gas for his scooter and that gives him at least 100 mpgs. Now, I don’t know how the schematics of that works, but it sure sounds good!

The great things about scooters is that there isn’t an age cap! Of course you have to be of a certain age to buy and ride one, but people young and old can ride them! Memphis Vespa/Metro Moto (3125 Poplar Ave) speaks on how their sales have increased this year, after a definite drop once the economy took a down turn.

Yes sales have improved, but not as dramatically as one would hope. I see it rising in the future. Scooters are fun! :)

What do you think is the most beneficial part of having a scooter?
